How to Solve the Problem of Heavy Traffic

Nowadays, the urban traffic is getting increasingly heavy in China. The roads and streets are packed with cars, bicycles and pedestrians, and traffic jams and accidents have become commonplace.

现如今，中国的城市交通正变得越来越拥挤。道路和大街都塞满了汽车、自行车和行人，堵车和交通事故已变得很普遍。

The people and government have all realized that effective measures should be taken before things get worse. For example, the govemment should invest more in constructing new roads and repairing and maintenance of old ones, particularly those in busy areas of cities. Besides, more public bus routes and more subways should be opened up so that more people will take the public transportation instead of traveling by private cars or bicycles. At the same time, it is essential that stricter traffic rules and regulations be issued to strengthen traffic control and facilitate the normal and efficient running of all means of transportation.

公众和政府都意识到，在事情变得更加糟糕之前，应该采取有效的措施了。比如，政府应该在建设新的道路和修理并保养旧路上做更多投资，尤其是在城市的繁忙地区。另外，应该开通更多的公交车线路和地铁，这样更多人会用公交出行，而不是使用私家车或自行车。同时，颁布更严格的交通规则和规范，以增强交通管制并促使所有交通方式正常和有效的运行，这点很重要。
